Professional Development

  • All of our members go through a 7-week intensive new member development program covering the basics, from resumes and cover letters to more advanced skills such as technical interviews and case studies. Current members are thrilled to give feedback and contribute towards new members’ professional growth within the form of both their hard and soft skills.

  • Our program ensures a well-rounded skill set, crucial for success in the dynamic field of consulting. There will be many opportunities to practice core skills such as public speaking and networking, while also learning how to perfect your resume and cover letters, which are crucial to setting up your professional career.

Community

  • Within IBC, we provide a warm environment to welcome new members. We get to know each other through coffee chats, group projects, and social events. These opportunities foster genuine relationships that extend beyond the the club, developing into regular hangouts and close friendships. As seen through our member testimonials, we often find that people find their closest group of friends within IBC, allowing them to enjoy time with one another while developing their professional skillsets.

  • IBC’s alumni network encompasses both factors of prestige and diversity, with alumni placing into top companies within a wide variety of fields. After their incredible experiences in the club, alumni are eager to give back and provide mentorship for current club members to increase their network while connecting them with other relevant professionals. No matter what field a current club member wants to pursue, they are bound to have an IBC alumni within that field that can offer invaluable advice and companionship to assist current members in maximizing their success and achieving their goals.

Real Consulting Experience

  • Semester-long projects with real clients and doing consulting work provide an excellent opportunity to practice and refine the skills gained from the new member education process. Direct contact with high level members of the businesses we interact with provide valuable insight on how various industries operate, and we promote growth through continuous feedback on our work.

  • The type of deliverables on these projects is directly reflective of the real work that consultants do on the job, including market research, promotion strategy, cost reductions, and more. This effectively preparing club members for their future careers and equipping them for the proper skills to succeed.
